CRUSADER EDITION

Some worlds reveal themselves only in silence. Crusader is one of them.

From the walkways of Orison, I watched the platforms rest in midair like fragments of a dream someone tried to hold onto. A city upheld — quite literally — between a gas giant and the human instinct to attempt the impossible. Before being held on Sol for urgent matters, our Editor-in-Chief entrusted me
with this issue. He would have found the perfect words to describe this paradox. I have only mine — humbler, perhaps — but shaped by the same sense of wonder.

Yet Crusader is far more than the serenity of its aerial city. It is a small constellation of places — three moons shaped by old stories, each with its own temperament; a station welcoming travelers at the
threshold of the atmosphere; and a shipbuilding legacy carried by Crusader Industries, whose craft continues to rise where most ambitions would falter.

Here, everything is drawn upward: the structures, the aspirations, the vessels engineered to lead others toward new frontiers. And beneath this gentle architecture lie quieter truths — engineers working close to the edge, pilots learning different rhythms of breath, families settling into a life where the ground is a memory rather than a certainty. Crusader is a demanding beauty — a confidence held above the ordinary.

Writing these lines, I feel the responsibility he placed in my hands. Stepping into his voice, even briefly, is like walking onto one of Orison’s raised platforms: it is steady, yet a hint of vertigo lingers. Perhaps that is the lesson this world offers — to continue forward without relying on familiar anchors, to embrace
the space where meaning takes form.
